T-BALL (co-ed, ages 5-6) Boys and girls explore the game and learn basics while having fun. Players assigned to teams based on schools whenever possible.
BASEBALL ROOKIES: (Ages 6-8) Machine pitch with an emphasis on continuing to learn the basics. Introduces the basic skills that the players will need to play at a higher level. Players assigned to teams based on friend requests and school groupings whenever possible. Teams are broken up into 2 divisions, one with mostly older players (age 7-8) and the other with younger ones (age 6-7). The 2 divisions do not play each other.
BASEBALL AA: (Ages 8-10) Player pitch is our beginning level of competitive play. Players are taught skills needed in the higher levels and are given the opportunity to learn without the fear of failing. Learning is the key to success. A 3-inning mandatory playing rule will be in effect. Everyone bats around in the order. A manager drafts teams. 8 yr olds players must attend player evals and approved by RHLL to be deemed ready to play players pitch
BASEBALL AAA: (Ages 9-11) A key developmental level. A 3-inning mandatory playing rule applies. Everyone bats around in the order. Although this division is competitive, learning is still more important than winning. A manager drafts teams.
BASEBALL MAJORS: (Ages 10-12) Traditional Little League baseball at its finest. Players experience our most advanced level of competitive ball for this age group. Our most experienced managers will concentrate on developing the skills that the players have been taught in the lower levels. A 3-inning mandatory playing rule applies. Everyone bats around in the order. Managers will draft a team of twelve players.
INTERMEDIATE BASEBALL: (Ages 11-13) A competitive division with players being redrafted each year. A manager drafts teams. Different from Major BB and Junior BB in that the pitching mound distance is 50 ft and base paths are 70 ft long. Unlike Major BB, you can lead off. A 3-inning mandatory playing rule applies. Everyone bats around in the order. JUNIOR BB
BASEBALL JUNIORS: (Ages 13-15) A competitive level of play for this age group where players make the transition to longer base (80 ft) and pitching distance (54 ft). A manager drafts teams. A 3-inning mandatory playing rule applies. Everyone bats around in the order.
MINOR SOFTBALL: (girls, ages 8-10) Player pitches at the beginning level of competitive play. Players are taught skills needed in the higher levels, including pitching, without the fear of failure. All players bat and play a minimum number of defensive innings (3). Players assigned to teams based on school whenever possible.
MAJOR SOFTBALL: (girls, ages 11-14) Player fast pitch with increased competition and skill development while at the same time maintaining the fun aspects of the game rather that a win at all costs attitude. All players bat in the batting order and play in minimum number of defensive innings (3). Players attend tryouts so they can be evaluated by managers. Teams are formed via a draft aided by the information obtained during player evaluations
